Love Generation, the two disk album by Maximus Dan for 2006 is what I’d
describe as a perfect brew of vintage styles, fresh sounds and strong beats
which comes altogether to form something new and so very uplifting.

With his unprecedented vocal style, Maximus bestows lyrics with both melodic
precision and powerful messages. Disk one boasts of tracks with a hint of a
more classical sound- my favourite of them being ‘Ya Ya Monde’ which is a
digital collaboration with the late Andre Tanker.

Disk two, on the other hand, is more hard-core and radiates a somewhat
patriotic feel that is evident in both the intro- ‘Victory Speech’ and the
track ‘Fighter’ which was composed for the World Cup qualifying Trinidad and
Tobago football team. Other tracks on this disk such as ’Wrong Man’, ‘Dem
Gone’ and ‘Real Commander’ are of an earthier, spiritual level that Maximus
Dan always executes so well.
